Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, at Los Angeles. Paul Felix, the father of Allyson Michelle Felix is a minister who was ordained by Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix works as a primary school teacher in Balboa Magnet. Felix displayed a knack for sports early, and discovered her athletic abilities during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her first tryout she came in second place in the 200 meter event at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas prior to matriculating in the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She broke an Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was the youngest world champion for the 200m. The following year, she defended the title in front of her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix had a steady performance in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro, and Tokyo. She consistently placed at the top of the podium in all events.
